Take A Drive Down The Scenic Blue Ridge Parkway
Autumn in North Carolina is filled with gorgeous views like no other. “The Blue Ridge Parkway is America’s most visited National Park unit and is known as “America’s favorite drive.” The fall leaves begin to change color in early October, and by the end of the month the foliage of the Parkway will be fully covered with striking shades of yellow, orange, red, purple, and brown. Corn Maze & Pumpkin Festival
Every weekend in October, experience the entertainment of West Jefferson’s Pumpkin Festival and Corn Maze. You won’t want to miss out on activities like pumpkin bowling, corn hole, face painting, hay rides, and so much more, not to mention the mouth-watering variety of food to offer. If you have the pleasure of going on a Saturday, there will even be live music! Who doesn’t love live music? In the heart of Downtown West Jefferson, along with more than a dozen shops, art galleries, and restaurants, the Ashe County Farmers Market brings our community together every Saturday. This Market holds over 50 local vendors, locally grown and 100% organic produce, local featured artisans selling handmade art, and so much more. Kool Nites & Hot Rods
If you have a passion for “hot rods” and are in the West Jefferson area on October 16th, make sure to meet up at the last cruise of the season for the Blue Ridge Midnight Runners. Like we mentioned earlier, this will be the perfect time of the year to cruise down the Blue Ridge Parkway because the fall foliage on the mountains will be at its peak. This event will bring a different feel to Ashe County — it’s right around sunset, from 4pm – 7pm, and will be a moment to remember. Trick-or-Treat Downtown West Jefferson, North Carolina
On October 30th, 2021, celebrate Halloween with Ashe County during their annual trick-or-treating event in Downtown West Jefferson! Make sure to dress to the occasion in your most creative costume! This is a family-friendly event taking place from 1pm – 3pm. More info: here
