It’s finally time to get outside and enjoy that crisp mountain air, appreciate the greenery coming back into the High Country, and take advantage of the new season ahead! St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations
On March 17th, kick off spring the right way with Ashe County St. Patty’s Day celebrations! Make sure you wear green and come enjoy live music with your friends at Carolina Country Wines & Craft Beer located at 7 N Jefferson Ave in West Jefferson, North Carolina. Entertainment by Will Massey will be from 3pm – 5pm and Holden Bare from 6pm – 8pm!

Chili Cook Off at the Molly Chomper Cidery
For all the chili lovers out there: there will be a Chili Cook Off at the Molly Chomper Cidery on Saturday, March 18th from 12pm – 2pm! It is completely free to enter your soon-to-be famous chili. Tasting tickets are $10 each and kids are free! Not to mention, it is all for a great cause – all fundraising goes to Lost Province.

Stone Mountain Trout Unlimited River Cleanup
Take part in the first river cleanup of the year! New River Conservancy has partnered with Stone Mountain Trout Unlimited to clean the South Fork of the New River on Saturday, March 18th at 1 N Jefferson Ave, in West Jefferson, North Carolina. As more river clean-ups get scheduled, they will continue to add them to the calendar or events and on social media.

Art to You with Laura: Paint Your Barn
Art to You with Laura will be at The Old Store at Grassy Creek located at 710 Grassy Creek, Grassy Creek, NC 28631 on Saturday, March 25th from 2pm – 5:30pm for a Paint Your Barn workshop. Do you have a barn that you adore? Email a picture of the barn you want to paint (cropped how you would like it on the canvas) to Laura at [email protected] by Wednesday, March 22nd. Keep Ashe Beautiful Spring Litter Sweep
Get your family, friends or your business together, or join a team and spend an hour or two tidying up the place you call home – the beautiful Ashe County, North Carolina. On Saturday, April 1st from 9am- 12pm, join your local community on the Keep Ashe Beautiful Spring Litter Sweep. You will be provided with all the necessities like trash grabbers, bags, gloves and t-shirts! Volunteers are much needed. Register for the Spring Sweep event by contacting the organization. Ashe County Farmers Market
The Ashe County Farmers Market is nestled in the heart of downtown West Jefferson, convenient to local dining and shopping at 108 Backstreet, West Jefferson. The market brings together everything great about Ashe County every Saturday from April 8th, 2023 to October 28th, 2023 from 8am – 1pm. They feature fresh seasonal produce grown locally, complemented by juried crafts handmade by Ashe County artisans. The featured artisans hand craft pottery, woven baskets, knitted and crocheted items, quilts, paper, jewelry, flower art, and soy candles, along with organic and vegan soaps and body products.
